FAQs
Quick answers
For crawlers collecting stamps, shops claiming seats, and organizers launching a hometown trail.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Hometown Crawls works in your mobile browser. Join a digital stamp passport, visit shops, and stamp with a QR or counter code. Save the site to your home screen if you like — still no App Store download.
How do I get a stamp?
Join the crawl passport, visit a participating shop in person, then scan the shop QR or type the printed counter code. You must be at the shop: location is required, and a claim farther than 50 meters from a pinned shop is refused.
What if the QR won’t scan?
Ask for the printed code on the tent card and enter it manually on the trail page or Account → Stamp.
Is it free for crawlers?
Yes. Joining a passport is free. You support shops by visiting (and hopefully buying something delicious). Completer prizes are while supplies last each season.
Do I have to buy something at every stop?
Show some love if you can and buy something at the shop. A purchase is not required to get a stamp.
How long do I have to finish a passport?
Each trail has its own season. Check the trail page for Live, Upcoming, or Ended. Finish within the season if you want that season’s completer prize.
How do shop seats work?
Shop entry for the Puyallup Holiday Coffee Crawl is $49.99 for the 2026 holiday season, one-time. You get a map pin, a passport slot, a QR, and a counter code.
What does a shop receive with a seat?
A listed stop on the trail, a unique QR for crawlers to scan, a printed-ready counter code for when cameras fail, and visitors who are already looking for independent stops in town.
Can I organize a crawl in my town?
You can apply on the organize page. Send my application opens an email to hello@hometowncrawls.com.
Who can organize — chambers, downtown groups, volunteers?
Chambers of commerce, downtown associations, neighborhood groups, and individual volunteers are all welcome. See our organizer guide for a calm overview.
Do you use Google / Apple sign-in?
No SSO buttons. Sign in with an email magic link. Your stamps and prize entries stay on that email account.
